CFO Tax Ledger
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Still CFO LLC, a California limited liability company ("StillCFO", "we", "us"), and govern your use of the CFO Tax Ledger mobile app ("the app") and the website cfotaxledger.com. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Planning only; not tax advice; does not file
CFO Tax Ledger is a tax planning and record-keeping tool. Planning figures are for planning purposes only. They are not your actual tax, and the app does not calculate or provide actual results. It is not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and StillCFO is not a tax preparer. The app does not prepare or file tax returns and does not submit anything to the IRS or any state.
Tax planning figures, quarterly set-aside amounts, safe harbor figures, self-employment tax, depreciation, home office, wash-sale flags, mileage rates and the mapping of entries to form lines (such as Schedule C, D and E and Form 8949) are approximations for general information. They depend on what you enter, may not reflect every rule, credit, deduction, state tax or recent change in law, and may contain errors. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your records and your tax filings and payments. Review your information with a qualified tax professional before filing or paying taxes. Nothing in the app creates a professional or advisory relationship with StillCFO.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own records, subject to these Terms and the rules of the store you downloaded it from. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer (except where the law allows), resell or redistribute the app. StillCFO and its licensors own the app, its design and its content. "CFO Tax Ledger" and "StillCFO" are our brands.
3. Pro subscription, auto-renewal, cancellation and refunds
Logging in the app is free. CFO Tax Ledger Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription, currently US$19.99 per year, that unlocks the CPA packet export, receipt photos, CSV importers and more than one vehicle for the tax year it covers (see below). The price shown in the app at the time of purchase, in your local currency, applies.
- One payment, one tax year. Each paid subscription year unlocks Pro for exactly one tax year. At your first purchase you choose the tax year (for example, 2026). Each renewal unlocks the next tax year (2027, then 2028). While auto-renew is on, the next tax year opens early so you do not have to wait for your renewal date; if you turn off auto-renew, that early access ends when your current paid period ends.
- Supported tax years. Each tax year is supported from January 1 of that year through December 31 of the following year (for example, the 2026 tax year is supported through December 31, 2027). After that the tax year is archived: you can view and export your own records, but planning figures, the CPA packet and importers are no longer provided for that year and its rules are not updated. A tax year you paid for remains available until its support ends, even if your subscription ends sooner. Planning figures for a new tax year appear only after an app update adds that year's IRS figures.
- Rule updates. We aim to update supported tax years after the IRS publishes changes that affect the app's features. Updates are delivered as app updates through the App Store or Google Play; keep the app updated to receive them. Planning figures reflect the IRS rules as of the date shown in the app, which may not include later changes.
- Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically for another year at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancellation. Cancel any time in your store account: on iPhone or iPad, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and Pro stays active until then. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and StillCFO cannot issue refunds directly. Request a refund from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play under their refund policies. Except where required by law or by store policy, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not refunded.
- Price changes. If the price changes, you will be notified as the store requires, and the new price applies from your next renewal. Where the store requires your consent to a price increase, the subscription will not renew at the higher price without it.
- Restore. Use "Restore purchase" in the app with the same Apple or Google account to restore Pro on a new or reinstalled device.
- If Pro ends. Everything you logged stays in the app and remains free to view and edit; Pro-only features lock for tax years you have not paid for until you subscribe again.
4. Your data and backups
You own the information you enter. The app stores it only on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. Because StillCFO does not hold a copy, we cannot recover data that is lost if your device is lost, damaged or reset or the app is deleted. You are responsible for making and keeping backups using the app's backup feature or your device's backups, and for protecting exported files.
5. Acceptable use
Use the app only for lawful purposes and only for records you are entitled to keep. Do not use it to prepare false or fraudulent records, interfere with the app or its purchase systems, or circumvent its features or licensing.
6. Third-party services
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google and confirmed through RevenueCat; your device's operating system provides location, camera, biometric and notification features; and files you share go to services you choose. Those services are governed by their own terms, and StillCFO is not responsible for them. Mileage imports read files exported from other apps; StillCFO is not affiliated with those apps.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The app and website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. StillCFO does not warrant that any estimate, calculation, form mapping or import will be correct or complete, or that the app will meet your requirements. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StillCFO and its members, managers and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any taxes, interest, penalties, lost deductions, lost profits or lost data, arising out of or related to the app or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims relating to the app or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim or US$20.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify StillCFO against claims, losses and costs arising from your misuse of the app or your violation of these Terms or of law.
10. App store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and StillCFO only, not Apple. StillCFO, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- StillCFO, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, and claims that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded the app from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your purchase. Where store terms conflict with these Terms on billing or refunds, the store's terms control.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Contra Costa County, California, and you and StillCFO consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court where eligible. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
12. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it (and canceling any subscription in your store account). We may suspend or end your license if you violate these Terms. Sections 1, 4 and 7 through 11 survive termination.
