Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the CFO Tax Ledger app for iPhone, iPad and Android ("the app") and the website cfotaxledger.com handle information. The app is published by Still CFO LLC, a California limited liability company ("StillCFO", "we", "us").

Information that stays on your device

Everything you enter or create in the app is stored in the app's private storage on your device, including:

• trips, odometer readings, vehicles and saved places;
• income and expense entries, categories, rules, recurring entries and 1099 payers;
• receipt photos you attach;
• capital gains lots and rental property records;
• tax planning figures, quarterly payments, home office figures, reminders, checklist progress and settings.

StillCFO does not receive, see or store any of it. We do not operate a server, database or cloud account for your records.

Device permissions

Location (optional)

If you use the GPS stamp, the app asks for location access "while using the app" only. It reads your location at the moment you tap start and again when you tap stop, calculates the distance on your device, and saves the distance together with the start and stop coordinates (latitude, longitude and accuracy) on that trip as evidence for your mileage log. Those coordinates stay on your device, but they are included in files you choose to create: your backup file and, if you export it, the mileage log in your CPA packet. They can also be part of your phone's own encrypted Google or iCloud backup. The app does not track your location in the background and never sends your location to StillCFO or anyone else. You can log trips by typing miles or odometer readings without granting location access, and you can turn access off at any time in your device settings.

Camera and photos (optional)

The camera or photo library is used only when you choose to attach a receipt. The photo is stored in the app's storage on your device.

Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint (optional)

App lock uses your device's built-in biometric system. The operating system checks your face or fingerprint and tells the app only whether the check succeeded. The app never receives or stores biometric data.

Notifications (optional)

Reminders, such as quarterly payment dates, are local notifications scheduled on your device. No notification service of ours is involved.

When information leaves your device

Files you choose to share or back up

When you export a CPA packet (PDF and CSV files) or a backup file, the app hands the file to your device's share sheet or file picker. It goes only where you send it, such as email, AirDrop, Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive, and is then handled under that service's terms. These files contain your tax records in readable form, so store and share them as carefully as you would paper tax records.

Your device's own backups

If you use iCloud Backup, a computer backup, or Android's backup to your Google account, your device may include the app's data in those backups. Apple or Google handles those backups under your account; StillCFO does not receive them.

Purchases

Pro is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment; StillCFO never sees your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription service provider, to confirm purchases and restores. To do that, the app sends RevenueCat the store receipt or purchase token and a random, anonymous app user ID created by the app, along with the technical details any app connection includes (such as device type, operating system and app version, store country and IP address). RevenueCat does not receive your tax records, name or email from the app. RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf; see RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Links you tap

If you tap a link in the app (for example to this policy or to email support), it opens in your browser or email app.

Apart from the cases above, the app makes no network requests.

What we do not do

• No account, sign-in or email collection.
• No bank, card or brokerage connections. CSV files you import are read on your device.
• No advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools, in the app or on this website.
• No selling or sharing of personal information, and no use of your data for advertising or profiling.

This website

cfotaxledger.com is a static website hosted on Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or third-party scripts. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your records stay on your device until you delete them or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its data from that device. Copies you exported or backed up remain wherever you saved them, under your control. Security

Your records are protected by your device's security, and you can add a Face ID or fingerprint lock in the app. Purchase traffic to Apple, Google and RevenueCat uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Because your data is on your device, keep your device passcode on and protect any backup files you create.

Your privacy rights, including California

Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, you may have rights to know, access, correct or delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information. Because your records are on your device and not with us, you can see, change and delete them directly in the app. For the limited purchase information held by RevenueCat, email us and we will help. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

Children

The app is a tax organizer intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

United States

The app is designed for U.S. federal tax records. StillCFO is based in the United States, and RevenueCat processes purchase information in the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, such as a new kind of data leaving your device, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
